{"id":64,"date":"2025-04-25T14:02:22","date_gmt":"2025-04-25T14:02:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/officeofcivilrights.cornell.edu\/prohibited-bias-discrimination-and-harassment\/?page_id=64"},"modified":"2025-05-20T13:21:18","modified_gmt":"2025-05-20T13:21:18","slug":"reporting-discrimination-and-harassment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/officeofcivilrights.cornell.edu\/prohibited-bias-discrimination-and-harassment\/reporting-discrimination-and-harassment\/","title":{"rendered":"Discrimination and Harassment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Cornell Office of Civil Rights (COCR) receives reports of discrimination and harassment alleged to have violated&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/policy.cornell.edu\/policy-library\/prohibited-bias-discrimination-harassment-and-sexual-and-related-misconduct\">Policy 6.4<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You are encouraged to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cornell.guardianconduct.com\/incident-reporting?incident_type=Discrimination%20and%20Harassment%20(Employee%2FCampus)\">report to COCR<\/a>&nbsp;if you have observed or experienced discrimination or harassment based upon race, ethnic or national origin, citizenship and immigration status, color, sex, pregnancy or pregnancy-related conditions, age, creed, religion, actual or perceived disability (including persons associated with such a person), arrest and\/or conviction record, military or veteran status, sexual orientation, gender expression and\/or identity, an individual\u2019s genetic information, domestic violence victim status, familial status, marital status, caregiver status, height, weight, and any other legally protected class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports of protected status discrimination and harassment can be made to COCR in the following ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cornell.guardianconduct.com\/incident-reporting?incident_type=Discrimination%20and%20Harassment%20%28Employee%2FCampus%29\">File an online report<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Email&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:civilrights@cornell.edu\">civilrights@cornell.edu<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Call COCR at (607) 255-2242<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visit our office located at 500 Day Hall (5th Floor)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All members of the Cornell community also have the right to make a report to the Cornell University Police Department, local law enforcement, and\/or state police or choose not to report; to be protected by Cornell from retaliation for reporting an incident; and to receive assistance and resources from Cornell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cornell provides a variety of options available to resolve reports of bias, discrimination, and harassment, so that each person may choose a path for response best suited to their particular situation.\u00a0 Cornell\u2019s\u00a0procedures\u00a0are intended to protect the rights of all parties and the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Cornell Office of Civil Rights (COCR) receives reports of discrimination and harassment alleged to have violated&nbsp;Policy 6.4.
