Cornell University

Data & Statistics

Each academic year, COCR prepares a statistical summary of Formal Complaints filed with the office alleging sexual and related misconduct. The statistics are anonymized, consistent with the privacy provision in the policy. In addition, since 2000, Cornell University has had a program to track bias that is occurring on all campuses in an effort to be proactive in creating an inclusive climate for all, and COCR is responsible for collecting and reporting annually on all reported bias activity that occurs at Cornell University. The Office of Institutional Equity at Weill Cornell Medicine is responsible for collecting and tracking all reported bias activity that occurs at the Weill Cornell Medicine campus.

Finally, since 2015, Cornell has conducted a survey every two years to measure students’ knowledge of the university’s policies, procedures and resources, as well as their Cornell experiences, related to sexual assault, sexual and gender-based harassment, stalking, and dating and domestic violence. For more information, see results and analysis of the campus climate surveys on sexual assault and related misconduct.
